Advertising Concepts
This is a tiny archive of some of the advertising concepts that I’ve created over the years. Great ideas don’t age (even if the printed copies of them do!). Conceptual advertising appears to have died a quiet death these days. Just count how many TV ads (once the jewel in the crown of the industry) feature people dancing or a bastardised version of a well-known song. Now try to recall what all those dancers were advertising. You can’t. It’s all too samey and forgetable. That’s not to say great ideas are dead. Whether you are looking to send out an email or need some banner advertising on your own or another website, investing in ideas will make your work work harder. Ideas connect you with your target audience on an emotional level as well as the rational offer you are making.
Nothing expresses a great idea better than a short, punchy headline. If that headline works hand-in-hand with an image then it will be more memorable, but not everyone has the budget to create great images. Library images can often be just as effective with the right words. The point is, no one should be settling for work that doesn’t have a strong concept behind it.
