Data Risks and Recovery logo design

Logo/branding created for a start-up business focused on data risk mitigation and recovery of lost data. Designing logos is often described as a colouring contest – clients either love it or not based purely on their gut reaction. There’s nothing wrong with that – why would you want a logo that’s a colour or uses a typeface that you don’t like? That said, a logo has to work in ways that often aren’t obvious to clients: as a tiny 16 pixel icon in the header of a web browser, an mobile shortcut, or on large scale signage. Suddenly the £25 you spent on a low resolution JPEG logo on Fiverr doesn’t look such a bargain when it’s too small to be printed for your vehicle or building signage.

The key to happy logo creation is to get to know your client, their business goals and, yes, the colours they love and hate. If that means you end up challenging the norms of your sector – like a solicitor’s practice with bright pink branding – then so much the  better.
